BIO

Linda was born in Wisconsin, raised in Minnesota and currently lives in Georgia. After graduating with majors in art, speech, and theater from Moorhead State University, she has enjoyed careers as an art educator, custom framer, gallery owner, visual artist, international frame designer and documentary photographer. Her curiosity about people, culture, and history has led Linda to travel in thirty countries, most recently photographing in Mexico, Sicily, India, Cuba, Russia and Iran.

ARTIST STATEMENT

After years of traveling, I realize my journeys are not only an outward exploration of life, but an inward journey as I connect with others. Wherever I photograph, I intuitively capture emotions I sense in everyday people. I discover beauty in our common humanity that transcends differences in cultures and traditions. A lifetime of personal experiences has moved me through passages of loneliness and sorrow, love and loss, into solitude and joy, faith and compassion. It is the silent emotions of the heart that inspire me to photograph. It is a way to connect with the interior feelings that draw us together beyond disparities and divisions of geography, status, religion or government.
